Suzy Costello, sculptor and printmaker

I am a New Zealand artist studying for a Master in Fine Arts at Massey University. I enjoy printmaking and sculpting in a variety of materials. During my time at Massey I have focused on installations, hoping to understand the dynamic quality of space, where our movements and memories are experienced in a non-linear, relational way.

The significance of my place, space and site in Aotearoa New Zealand is at the heart of my artmaking practice and by following the vital matter and agency of discarded natural materials sourced from my local area, I hope to give voice to this place. I have become curious about the interrelationship between place, memory and cultural identity; human and non-human living forms; and art and science.
